Show Notes – A Good Habit 4/23/14

A Good Habit Show NotesHello and happy Thursday to all of you.  We hope you’re enjoying your Easter Octave – don’t forget to keep the Easter celebrations going.

Yesterday Fr. Wade Menezes, CPM was on A Good Habit, and he packed a lot of information into the show.  You can listen to it here:

As we mentioned, he was on our show last November and we recently re-aired that episode, which you can find on our Show Notes post here, along with the handouts from that show (about the seven capital sins and their corresponding virtues and vices).

“Meet the saint version of you” – the podcast I mentioned from Taylor Marshall can be found here.

Some books that were mentioned:

Theology of the Body: Human Love in the Divine Plan

The Church Visible

Ocean of Mercy (DVD)

The Temperament God Gave You (we didn’t talk about a book, but this is a good introduction to the four temperaments).

Father Wade talked about the definition of sin, which begins in the Catechism with paragraph 1849.  You can read it online here.

Sr. Grace Marie told a beautiful story about Pope John Paull II, mercy and a homeless priest, which Dr. Scott Hahn recounted on Mother Angelica’s live show April 25, 2001.  The show can be  listened to here.  The story begins around the 46 minute mark. It’s a beautiful story to hear, especially just a few days before our incredible Pope is declared a saint.

Speaking of the canonization, don’t forget to watch it on EWTN, either live, for the die-hard saint-loving souls out there, or when it re-airs at a more decent hour.  It will air live at 2:30am Central time on Sunday morning, and re-air at 6pm Central Sunday evening, and Monday at 10pm.  You can also stream it online if EWTN is not available in your area, just go to http://www.ewtn.com
